STUART FALLOWFIELD

Stuart began his career in a large private accountancy firm in Middlesbrough, where he qualified as a chartered certified accountant and worked as an external auditor and supported client tax investigations. 


He moved to the NHS in 1996 and, for the majority of the time since then, he has held senior management positions within internal audit and is currently the Director of Assurance Services and Deputy Managing Director of AuditOne.   

CARL BEST

Associate Director of INTERNAL AUDIT

Carl joined the NHS as a trainee auditor in 1988. He has worked through the ranks in a variety of audit roles in the precursor organisations to AuditOne, including a secondment to a governance role in a client organisation. He was Acting Director of Audit prior to the creation of AuditOne and is currently in the role of Associate Director of Business Assurance. 


Carl has developed and maintained board level relationships across a range of acute, mental health and commissioning clients and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. Carl is currently leading on our approach to system wide assurance with the introduction of integrated care organisations.

AMY KEELTY

QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE MANAGER

Amy started her career working for KPMG as an external auditor, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2009. Since that time, she has gained over 15 years of experience in internal audit roles within the NHS at management level. 


In her current role, Amy is responsible for all aspects of quality and performance; developing implementing and continually improving process to ensure compliance with relevant internal audit standards. Amy manages the quality assurance and improvement programme at AuditOne, performing regular quality assessments and organising the delivery of the 5 yearly external quality assessment (last carried out in 2020 by the Institute of Internal Auditors).  Through a suite of performance metrics, she also plays a key part in supporting AuditOne’s culture of continuous improvement through excellent performance.


Amy also organises the delivery of relevant professional qualifications and is the key point of contact for all staff studying. We currently have a number of employees studying for qualifications ran by both the Institute of Auditors and ISACA. Qualifications pursued include Certified Internal Auditor, Chartered Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor. 

PAUL TILNEY

TECHNOLOGY RISK ASSURANCE MANAGER

Paul has over 30 years’ experience working in IT operational, management and audit environments. He joined the NHS in 1994 and held several IT operational support and management roles with NHS Trusts before moving into IT security audit in 2004, initially as an IT Auditor and then as TRA Manager in 2016. 

Paul manages the delivery of AuditOne's TRA services to over 15 clients in the NHS, council and further education sectors.

KAREN WASS

TECHNOLOGY RISK ASSURANCE MANAGER

Karen has over 15 years experience working in internal audit in the private and public sector both delivering and managing IT, operational and financial audits. She is both FCCA and CISA qualified. Karen joined the NHS in 2011 and has had several roles within the audit teams, including the role of Technology Risk Assurance Manager since 2018.  


Karen manages the delivery of AuditOne’s TRA services to NHS clients and is the AuditOne lead for the delivery of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Assessments across the full NHS client base. She is also the lead for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) matters.

REBECCA JOHNSON

WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS MANAGER

Becky is a seasoned Human Resources professional and experienced leader, having worked within HR, resourcing and leadership roles across public and private sector since 2011. 


Becky is passionate about HR and have completed her CIPD level 3 and 5 and is working towards achieving her level 7 MSC in human resource management. 


Becky has significant experience in both client facing and internal HR positions within the NHS and has most recently worked within an NHS commissioning support unit, as well as the education and retail sector.


Becky has led a team of HR professionals and foster a culture of high standards within everything she does. Her knowledge spans across transactional services and strategic HR management with expertise in complex employee relations activity, workforce planning and TUPE. 


In her spare time Becky enjoys being with her family (including her little sausage dog - Pablo) and her friends. Her passion is travelling and exploring new places and different cultures on holiday. 

MIKE GILL

ASSOCIATE

 Mike joined the NHS in 1990 and has operated for over twenty years at, or near, board level within the NHS (including as a Finance Director) and has also held nation-wide roles within the Department of Health and Monitor (Independent Regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts).


Mike has a unique set of skills/experience   by working at Monitor since its inception as an Assessment Director, at the Department   of Health as Foundation Trust Director and also as Deputy CEO/FD at two acute   trusts including Mid Staffordshire NHS FT where he was the first of the new board members following the public scandal and led the development and the  implementation of the Trust’s Transformation Programme in response to the  critical Healthcare Commission Report. Mike can offer all round health sector  experience via the NHS, regulatory bodies and consultancy assignments.


Mike has spent many years supporting and assessing Boards/Governing Bodies in delivering their strategic and financial plans and ensuring appropriate governance arrangements are in place so that they are able to operate as autonomous and effective organisations. This work has included assisting both commissioner and provider NHS organisations develop more effective control mechanisms including their CIP, risk and performance management systems.

Mike’s extensive and senior level experience of the NHS sector allows him to offer support and insight to organisations to ensure that they are well managed and that each level of the organisation is appropriately focussed on its core activities and responsibilities and overall have fit for purpose governance arrangements. 


Mike regularly speaks on behalf of NHS Providers (the national membership organisation for NHS providers) on their national Board Development Programme on governance and risk related development courses.
